Holiday Recap

For us, the holiday season primarily consisted of trying to make everyone jealous with our summery xmas themed selfies. Did we succeed? We’ll never know. I can definitely get behind this Christmas on the beach thing. I only had one tiny moment of weakness where I missed a snowy xmas, but it quickly passed as I remembered how many times I fell on the icy Halifax sidewalks last year (it was a lot).

We were kindly adopted by a friends family for Christmas eve and day. We got to experience a traditional Aussie Christmas consisting of poolside lounging, xmas feasting outdoors, and yes someone “put a shrimp on the barbie” for us.

It wasn’t all Aussie traditions, we also got to share one of our favourites. It just isn’t Christmas without seeing Hanz Grueber plummet to his death. “HO HO HO MUTHER*UCKERS!”

For New Years we were invited to view the Sydney fireworks from a beautiful waterfront apartment. The fireworks were incredible. I did’t know where to look. Explosions were all around me. It was a completely surreal experience.

With our bellies full of champagne and beer we joined the masses to trudge home through the haze of gunpowder.
