Paris, je t’aime.
October 31, 2016

OK, so many of you know by now that I’ve fallen madly deeply in love with Paris, like, sorry John if Paris was a person we would have to work out some kind of inter-relationship deal where I could hang out with Paris on the side. My five weeks in Paris was just perfection. Everything went right. None of that horrible stuff you hear about happening in Paris happened to us. Not to doubt that those things don’t happen I’m sure it’s real, we were just fortunate not to experience the bad things. No disgruntled French men yelled at us. Nobody was unnecessarily rude. In fact, everyone was really nice. Like surprisingly kind, patient, and even generous at times. More than I could ever expect from strangers in a big city.
Since we were in Paris for a whopping five weeks we did a lot of stuff. For the purpose of the blog I broke up our activities into four parts: Paris livin’, the Palace of Versailles, Museums/Galleries, and a weekend trip to Strasbourg.
Eiffel Tower
We actually ended up in a neighbourhood near the Eiffel Tower (the 15th Arr.), so the Champ de Mars was the park we walked to often. Naturally, we took many photos of dat tower. It was just so cool to be near this icon of Paris, of Western culture.
I could see the Eiffel Tower from our apartment!

Notre-Dame
Agh! So amazing to go to this place. It’s just such an incredible piece of architecture. So much detail. I was definitely aww stricken. We went inside as well, but it wasn’t particularly breathtaking … I mean not compared to the outside!

Around The River Seine
Strolling around the river was my idea of Parisian perfection. I felt so cool walking around or lounging with a beer with all the other young Parisians. I imagined all the French artists who might’ve done the same in history. Now that I think of it the excited squealing sounds I made were probably really off-putting for all the people around me.
Look! that’s me in the middle.
Sorry for the blurry, but I thought this was cute.
Dressing to match the bridges.

Drinking along the river.
Eating at one of the bars along the river.
Sacré-Coeur
After getting over my initial annoyance that nobody would carry me up this big hill I really enjoyed Sacré-Coeur. The view was incredible and the surrounding area is so quant. We spent the evening strolling around the lil’ cobblestone streets on our way over to the Moulin Rouge.
Moulin Rouge and Neighbourhood
Sex shops and porn as far as the eye can see. What’s not to like?
I even got to have lunch at the famous Cafe de 2 Moulins from Amelie!
Go to about 2:05 and that’s basically me in the cafe.
To be continued…
