A Day in Versailles
November 13, 2016

I’m not sure I even have the words to describe how amazing the Palace of Versailles is. It’s like every indulgence I’ve ever known, every long bubble bath I’ve enjoyed, every delicate pastry I’ve ever eaten wrapped up in gold with some diamonds sprinkled on top. The Palace in itself is almost endless with its ornate beauty, but for me it was all about the amazing garden, which is equally over decorated and perfect.
Despite the hordes of other tourists around I made an effort to push them out of my mind while I walked through the rooms of the Palace to imagine what it would be like to live the insane lives of the French Monarch in the 1700’s.
I can only imagine the intrigue and ridiculousness that would’ve gone on in these rooms.

After tromping around the gardens and giant grounds of Versailles we made it over to Marie Antoinette’s hamlet.
Do you really need that many chairs Marie Antoinette?
Kindred spirits.
My fav painting of Marie Antoinette by Louise Élisabeth Vigée Le Brun, That’s right, an actual female artist! I know some people claim they don’t exist like a unicorn.
Back to the Palace to check out more fountains and whatever.

While I was imagining that I was a princess wondering around the palace John was busy trying to be the very best and catch all the pokemons. Wait for the fish bit, that’s real nightmare fuel right there. I mean it’s straight out of a Bosch painting. Like, try not to barf.
I was so tired and sweaty by the end of this day, but it was a splendid day at the Palace. I’m so happy we were able to make it out to Versailles. Such beauty. I don’t think a day will go by that I won’t think of the splendour of this place.
