The Gang Tours: Rome

Yep, we even terrorized Rome.

Rome

6 nights

‘Sup Vatican! This time we made it into St. Peter’s Basilica.

One of the few times I’ve ever shoved to the front of a crowd to see a thing was for this perfect sculpture. The Pietà by Michelangelo. Sadly, I’ll never be able to get as close as I want to this powerful masterpiece.

So many people and honestly some of the rudest people I’ve ever encountered. Stop yer shoving you Catholics!

A library/ beer bar.

We found some spices at the Campo de’ Fiori.

I’m not saying this is Ezio.. but it’s Ezio.

The Spanish Steps.

Spanish step selfie!

The Pantheon. So crowded, but so cool.

Pantheon selfie!

Roman ruins turned cat sanctuary.

I name this one Boots.

One of the caretakers of this cat sanctuary came while we were there and summoned the cats, so we got to pet all the kitties.

BAR. I drank a whole bottle of Prosecco in this adorable bar.

The Colosseum. Still really cool. John and I didn’t go in this time, but Alex and Mal took a tour.

Colosseum selfie!

A day trip to Pompeii. I got us on one wrong train, but mostly did a good job navigating to Pompeii from Rome.

Aperol Spritz break.

We went to the  Catacombs of San Callisto and here’s a cool article about the history of these catacombs. I wasn’t allowed to take photos inside, but this article has some and lets just say it was spooky.

Heya Alex, whya put your name on everything!?

John went on some of his own walking adventures. Including to the cat sanctuary again!

Rome why you gotta be like that?

Dinner time!

All good things must come to an end… Alex and Mal flew off to lame Canada, and we went the other direction, to Dubrovnik!
