A Surprise Trip to Guadeloupe

We had a bit of airplane drama while travelling from Martinique to Puerto Rico which resulted in a one night stay at a resort in Guadeloupe! If you’re going to have flight drama the Caribbean is a solid choice. Also, flight drama seems pretty common when flying between islands because there are often many stops and connections.

After waking up early to catch our flight from Martinique to San Juan, which was originally suppose to be direct, we ended up stopping in Guadeloupe to change airplanes. At the airport we were told to go to the wrong line-up which was almost certainly due to the language barrier, which resulted in us missing our flight, but spending a rather pleasant day in Guadeloupe. The flight company arranged for us to stay at a nice resort hotel with a beach and a pool. We spent most of the day enjoying the sun and even got to visit friends that live on the island. So, I can’t even be mad about the mistake.

Since the trip was so brief I didn’t take many photos.
