Los Gatos of Old San Juan

If you walk through Puerta De San Juan and walk along Paseo del Morro it will take you along the walls of the city and the San Felipe del Morro Fortress. You will find a cat sanctuary. You won’t miss it. It’s impossible to miss all the meowing, frolicking friends. There are hundreds of them.
A local charity takes care of all these feral felines by offering a fenced off space for them, food, and daily check-ins. The already lovely walk along the old walls of San Juan was made even lovelier by watching these kitties play in the rocks, chase spiders, challenge iguanas, and nap in the sunshine.

On top of the sweet sanctuary cats, you can also find cats all over the city lounging in walkways.
And last but not least… in our apartment building!
San Juan is the perfect cat lady’s paradise! 10 fluffy tummy rubs out of 10.
