First Impressions: Lima
December 30, 2018

*I wrote this a few weeks ago when I was in Lima but had trouble adding photos due to bad internet. Sorry for the delay! Pretend I’m still in Lima when reading this haha!*
Woah! Lima! Hey!
I’ve been in Lima for almost 2 weeks now and I haven’t done any of the huge tourist things that Pinterest keeps recommending to me. What have I been doing? Well, just a lot of exploring of my adorable Barranco neighbourhood, eating, and absorbing the sweet sun rays.
Don’t worry we have another week here to do more of the big stuff before we head off to Cusco and Machu Picchu for Christmas!
So what do I think of Lima? I’ve spent most of my time in Barranco and Miraflores neighbourhoods which are the more upscale tourist areas right on the coast and it’s delightful. A refreshing slow pace, beautiful landscape, and ocean breeze I am in heaven.
I am so happy we ended up staying in the Barranco neighbourhood. It’s so charming. Full of great food, bars, and atmosphere. Truly an artists’ paradise.

I’ve also been exploring the neighbouring neighbourhood of Miraflores. It’s a bit more upscale and a bit more tourist focused.

Of course, I’ve also been eating all the food. Ceviche, chicha, beer, coffee, and pisco sours!
